The interesting thing about Blogger blogs is that this is a Google product that doesn’t require any inbound links to rank in the search engines. Typically, when you create a website that website won’t get crawled or indexed by the search engines until it has some inbound links pointing to it. Not so with Blogger blogs.
The reason for this is because they are Google products. Google owns Blogger, aka Blogspot.com.
Because of this little anomaly, you can use Blogger blogs as link building tools and post your articles on them to build inbound links to your website. There is one proviso, however. Don’t abuse the privilege.
Blogger For Article Marketing Method #1
I’d say there are two primary methods for using Blogger blogs for article marketing purposes. The first method is the single article method. With this method you select a subdomain name that uses a keyword important to the subject matter of your article. Then you post the article and link it to your website using an important key phrase.
It’s important that you understand this method can only be accomplished a few times. If you try to create thousands of inbound links this way, Google will discount them. But I think Google will allow you to use this method in moderation.
When you’re done with your article and it’s posted publicly, promote it through Google+, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Float it around the social web and preferably in high traffic areas.
Blogger For Article Marketing Method #2
The second method for using Blogger as an article marketing tool is to actually create a blog that you intend to post to on a semi-regular basis. You don’t have to post everyday, but once or twice a week.
First, pick a subdomain that is broad-based and related to your niche. Think of it as similar to selecting a domain name for your website. You’ll be posting multiple articles here that deal with topics related to your niche.
Because this is a broad-based effort, you want your subdomain to be related to a variety of topics under your niche umbrella. For instance, if you are an auto mechanic in Adams County, then pick a subdomain such as AdamsCountyAutoMechanic. It will look like this in your browser window – AdamsCountyAutoMechanic.blogspot.com.
There are several variations that you can choose for subdomains so put a little thought into it and pick the best one.
Then, start posting your articles. Post once a week or twice a week. You might even just post once a month or twice a month. However often you decide to post articles, do it with the idea that you’ll build up your Blogger blog the same way you do any other website. In fact, treat it like a standalone blog.
Is Quality Important?
The most important thing to think about when creating Blogger blogs is also the most important thing to think about when performing any other online marketing task. Quality.
Make sure every article you post to your Blogger blogs passes the quality original content test. If you do that, then you should do just fine with your Blogger blogs.
