SEO Icon: Content Reseller

From time to time, we get a wild hair-brained idea. Of course, some of those turn into real profitable enterprises. Recently, Taylor and Associates has teamed up with SEO Icon, a reseller of content for a partner firm of ours who shall remain anonymous.

Just in case you’re wondering, clients of ours in the South Central Pennsylvania area are serviced by us, not outsourced.

We think that above statement is important because we have two aspects of our business – the local and the global. The local aspect of our business is Taylor and Associates, an Internet marketing consulting company for South Central Pa. businesses. The global aspect of our business exists as our partner firm – the aforementioned anonymous company – located in Texas. It is for that company for which SEO Icon is a reseller.

Two Questions Answered

Now, I know you have questions. Probably two of them. I would too. In fact, here are the questions I’d ask if I were in your shoes:

Why organize your business that way and maintain anonymity for one?
Why disclose these relationships openly on this blog?

Those are good questions and you certainly have a right to the answers. So let’s get to it.

Why is my business organized into local and global components and why is the global component “anonymous?”

When Theresa and I started Taylor and Associates in 2006, our intent was to do business locally. While in the process of building our local business we took on some side work online. One of our clients was a veteran Internet marketer in Florida. As it was, his online business was growing faster than our local business and it took a couple of months before he asked us to manage his business for him so he could focus his energy on sales. We accepted his generous and lucrative offer.

For the past five years, that’s precisely what we’ve been doing. At times, we were doing so well with that business that we hardly had time to focus on local clients. But we still maintained a local presence even if it was somewhat minimal.

Since then, our partner has moved to Texas and restructured his business. We still have the relationship we started five years ago, but Theresa and I have decided to spend a little bit more time pursuing local business in South Central Pa. Since these two ventures are unrelated, we’ve decided to keep our global relationship separate from our local relationships and the only sure way we can do that is to keep our global partnership firm anonymous. We hope you understand.

Why discuss this on the Taylor and Associates blog?

First, we have nothing to hide. We’re not doing anything unethical. We just want our customers (and our partners) to know what we have going. We believe a certain level of transparency is critical to being successful in both our local and our global marketing efforts.

Secondly, whenever a new online venture is undertaken, there is always a requirement for an initial push to get things going. That includes inbound linkbuilding for new websites. Because we want our global resellers to succeed, we thought we’d help them out a little. This blog post is our effort to gently give them a push with a new inbound link. We feel it’s a really small matter.

SEO Icon is a content reseller for our global business. The company is located in Indonesia. The services they offer businesses in their part of the world include onsite SEO, local search engine optimization, and SEO consulting. We’re proud to have them as resellers for our global component.
