Help! Skype Is Forcing Me To Change My Phone Number!

OK, I’m being a little melodramatic. Skype isn’t really forcing me to change anything. However, we are changing our phone number effective tomorrow.

We will have a Skype number. 717-557-8677.

We decided to go totally wireless for a number of reasons, the first of which is it’s just a sound business decision. We can get cheaper service through Skype than we can from the local phone company.

Secondly, this past snowstorm taught us that any power connection can kill our business. For us, it’s a risk we do not want to accept again. We were without power for almost a week. With a totally wireless business that includes our phone services as well as our Internet connection, it is less likely that snowstorms, windstorms, and other light acts of God will wreak too much havoc on our connectivity.

Thirdly, it’s the 21st century, for crying out loud. Why not go wireless?

Skype is one of the leaders in voice over internet technology. I’ve been watching them for some time and in the last couple of years they have really developed their service to such a degree that it just makes sense to make the move. Now was as good a time as any.

So, starting tomorrow, Taylor and Associates will have a new phone number. No more land line. Hello Skype. 717-557-8677.
